I wrote you a letter recently about a friend who really is in a very bad financial way. I know you are asked everyday for money especially from people who lie and dont need help at all. I explained that she is living in an adult care facility and has parkinsons.
She is 68, the youngest guest there, only because of her illness. My mom is in the same facility, thats how i met her. She is a wonderful person and before getting sick, had a very good job. Now they say she makes too much for help, She brings in $2800.00 per month. Her rent is $1900 which she had reduced, (begged) and her medications alone are betweetn $975 and up per month. What about telephone? Co-pays, shampoo, a chocolate bar when you are craving? She does not make enough to live and is very scared she will be kicked out of the facility when she goes to the next step, now is in Independent Living and will very soon need Assisted Living, same facility. She has one daughter who cannot afford to help as she is a single mom living in Manahattan. She is a widow, but was divorced so there was no money left to her. It would be my dream to be able to help this poor woman with money. Her illness makes her worse and worse, she cannot write much, eating is becoming a problem. Opra, if you are reading this, remember back when you had nothing. I know you give to many people and organizations, but surely you can consider doing something for her? I just came across this blog looking for a list of upcoming show’s. Why is everyone asking for money you sound nutty. If you have a need there are free services in your community that offer help getting your finacial heath back or your friend needs help with her nursing care have a bake sale, BBQ, set up a bank account call the news, write a letter to the newspaper ask your local community/church to donate. Get steppen people!

Hey Elizabeth,Is there anyway to find out which Friday in March Oprah’s ticket line will be open? I’m trying for tickets at the end of April or 1st week of May. My sister and I will be in Chicago to attend the Pancreatic Cancer Walk, in Grant Park, on May 2nd. Our father passed away on Christmas Day 2003 from this terrible cancer. We so enjoyed the Oprah show with Randy Pausch and want to honor all who fight this battle. And, while in Chicago we would LOVE to see Oprah! Thank you, Gayle

Dear Oprah, As a fellow dog lover, are you aware of how many dog owners are killing their dogs with poor quality dog food? I am referring to Iams, Purina, Science Diet, etc. My daughter and I have a Dog Daycare center and we were amazed at how many of our customers,over the past 7 years, have told us that their dogs have cancer. This led us to ask many Vets why? Holistic Vets such as Marty Goldstein will tell you that it is their diet and recommend a raw meat diet. Obviously I am condensing much of what we have learned, but we have convinced some of our clients whose dogs have cancer to try a raw diet with remarkable results. Cancer is a living organism that feeds off of starches. By feeding raw meat it starves the tumor. Also contributing to cancer is the over-vaccination of dogs and toxins in flea and heartworm medications. Dogs are dying of cancer at an alarming rate.
