It's time to mark your calendars for The Oprah Winfrey Show featuring an interview with The Pillars of the Earth author, Ken Follett and the announcement of the next book club selection.

If you are following along with the schedule on Oprah.com, you are wrapping up Part Five (covering years 1152 through 1155 on pages 769-901) this week and beginning Part Six (covering years 1170-1174 on pages 905-973). The Part Six reading schedule lasts from January 18-25, 2008, and Ken Follett will appear on the show Wednesday, January 30 -- giving readers a few extra days to finish the book before his appearance.

During early years of the book club, Oprah selected novels from up and coming authors, until the drama with James Frey and A Million Little Pieces unfolded. Most recently, Oprah has transitioned to choosing classics, or previous best-sellers. It will be interesting to see what selection she comes up with next.
