Tuesday, April 29, 2008 Oprah Show: A Family in Crisis
Today's episode featured a couple that has been on the show quite a few times since the beginning of the year. Wendie first appeared on Oprah as part of the episode with Dr. Oz to help people quit smoking. From there, Oprah and Dr. Oz have gone on to help Wendie and her husband Tony deal with all of the issues behind the symptom of smoking. Dr. Harville Hendrix joined the mix today to work on Wendie and Tony's relationship through therapy.
The honesty and courage to share their personal lives with the world that Wendie and Tony have shown is definitely inspiring. Their story isn't extraordinary, and that is exactly what makes it so great to feature on Oprah - Wendie and Tony are just like so many other people out there who are struggling with addictions and connecting with their partners. Dr. Oz pointed it out so clearly - Wendie and Tony suffered from cigarette addictions, but just substitute that with food, work, sex, etc. and they are the perfect example of how to work through the same issues in your own life. Watching Wendie and Tony work through their feelings and peel back the layers is just the thing that many need to find the strength to do the same for themselves.
Tomorrow on Oprah:
- "David Blaine Risks His Life to Break a World Record"
