Monday, May 19, 2008 Oprah Show: The Mary Tyler Moore Show
One of the most beloved shows in television history saw its cast reunited on The Oprah Winfrey Show today. I for one am too young to remember The Mary Tyler Moore Show - it was actually off air by the time I was born - but it is still endearing to see what it meant to so many people. Mary Richards was an independent career woman - a character never seen before on television that served as an inspiration to so many in the early 1970s - Oprah included.
The best parts of today's episode were seeing the set recreated on Oprah's stage, and Mary Tyler Moore presenting Oprah with an "O" signed by the cast just like the "M" that hung on Mary Richard's wall.
