From Elizabeth Fry, About.com GuideNovember 19, 2008

Follow me on:

A 12 year old boy who is 7'3" tall...a 26 year old woman who is the size of a 4 year old...Oprah and Dr. Oz spoke to people today who are medical miracles.

It was nothing short of inspiring to hear Brenden - "the boy who can't stop growing" - talk about how he thinks positively, loves himself the way he is, and wants people to see him as a normal boy. Dr. Oz described how Brenden's condition is one of a kind and has stumped doctors for years; making it a miracle that he is alive.

Oprah's next guest, Kristin, is one of only 100 people living with primordial dwarfism - at 26, Kristin stands 3'3" tall. Kristin wants people to understand her challenges as a little person, but also see her as capable of doing anything she sets her mind to. She shared, "I do have hopes and dreams for myself, just like everybody else, I mean, everybody has feelings. Everybody has problems. I'm like everybody else."

Oprah's final guest, Jill, can remember every detail of her life for the last 30+ years - down to the day of the week, time, and how she felt. Jill doesn't just remember events, but the emotions that went with them. She expressed how she wants "to be able to survive in society and have my friends and live a normal life, which I do, but I walk around with an open chest, raw all the time, and I have to act accordingly."
