Oprah on the Campaign Trail with Barack Obama
Now that The Oprah Winfrey Show in on a break from taping new shows until January, Oprah has time in her schedule to go on the road and support the presidential candidate of her choice -- Democrat, Barack Obama. This act by Oprah is causing a bit of a stir with viewers thinking that she is isolating much of her show audience by publicly backing a candidate -- other Democrats who possibly are behind Hillary Clinton, or even Republican viewers who don't appreciate being cast aside. While everyone is allowed their own choice in the voting booth, the issue comes from Oprah joining Obama on the road and speaking for him at his campaign events.
This past weekend, Oprah joined Obama, and his wife Michelle, in Des Moines, Iowa on Saturday and moved along with them to Columbia, South Carolina and Manchester, New Hampshire on Sunday. From the looks of Senator Obama's homepage, Oprah will not continue on with the Obama's to LA today and Seattle on Tuesday. Whether or not Ms. Winfrey will join the Obama's for more trail stops before the primary elections is yet to be seen, but with all the attention she is bringing her preferred candidate, I would guess that we will be seeing Oprah out on the trail again.
