How Gayle and Oprah Met:
While working at WJZ-TV in Baltimore, Maryland, Oprah and Gayle were both in their early 20s. While Gayle was still living with her parents outside of Baltimore, Oprah had relocated from Nashville and lived in an apartment close to the studio. Due to a snowstorm, Gayle was not able to make the drive home, and Oprah invited her to stay the night - the friendship developed from there, and has continued for more than 30 years.
