What to Take Away from the Show:
Dr. Oz shared a number of excellent words of advice for those who may know someone who is addicted and also for those experiencing pain with the need to make it go away. First, Dr. Oz explained that pain is a sign or a wake-up call from the body that a change needs to be made. Medication is one solution for this, but if progress isn't made within 2 weeks, more treatments may need to be added. Signs of addiction shared by Dr. Oz included the inability to go a day without medication, guilt and becoming annoyed when questioned about use. If these signs are present, encourage the person to seek help.
