Show Summary:
Most every married couple reaches a point in their relationship where they just cannot agree on a decision to be made or about an irritating behavior of their spouse. Inspired by a discussion between Jerry Seinfeld and his wife Jessica while a friend was visiting, the comedian realized that other couples could benefit from a Marriage Ref - an outside person to name a winner and end the debate. Out of their life a show was born - The Marriage Ref Tom Papa makes the final decision with help from three celebrity panelists. After showing clips from the series, the guests also helped Oprah's viewers.

What to Take Away from the Show:
"Don't be such a good accountant." is the advice Jerry Seinfeld has for married couples to help them get beyond their differences. Try not to take stock of every mistake or irritating quality and bring them back up in a disagreement. The Marriage Ref isn't intent on solving serious issues and aims at bringing some laughter in American homes and marriages. The couples on the series have deeply committed relationships and can use their minor arguments to entertain the country.
