Big Give Episode 2 - Angelo and Malaak Compton-Rock:

Big Give judge Malaak Compton-Rock appeared on the show with the second eliminated contestant, Angelo, for his first interview. Malaak shared that she thought the show was amazing and that so many people that she knows have been moved by what they have seen the contestants do.

Angelo was eliminated from the show after a controversial decision to give his car away to the manager of the TGI Friday instead of the family he was helping. Oprah asked Angelo why he made the decision, and he responded that the manager got the community together without asking for credit - showing attributes of a giver.

Malaak Delivers Shoes to Henry Street Settlement:

Shoes that Malaak Compton-Rock had collected during her Big Give premier party were ready to be delivered to the Henry Street Settlement. The Henry Street Settlement in New York City is a shelter for women that helps them find jobs and get them into permanent housing. Shoes of all sizes were handed out to the very deserving women.

Viewer Shelley's Big Give:

Shelley was the first audience member to receive $10,000 to start her own big give in her community. Shelley wanted to help a childhood friend who had lost her home in a fire. Missy, along with her husband Jeff and 8 year old triplets, lost everything. Shelley gathered a team of helpers to raise money and products. On the day of the reveal, the family rode to the event on a fire truck and a large number of people were invited to the auditorium to show the family what Shelley was able to do in 3 days. In total, Shelley was able to raise $134,137 for the family.

The Next Viewer Big Give:

The next person to get $10,000 to pull off their own big give was in the audience. Trey Gonzalez sent the show an email describing how he planned to audition for the Big Give until he realized that he was a year late and that the 4 events had already taken place. It was from this experience that Trey realized that he didn't need the show to give big. Trey was given 5 days plus his seed money to pull off an event of his own.

Charlize Theron and Oprah's Angel Network in South Africa:

Charlize Theron who is originally from South Africa, teamed up with Oprah's Angel Network to help students learn about health and sex education. Charlize's plan included a mobile health unit to educate students, many who have lost one or both of their parents to AIDS. The clinic visits 4 remote high schools for 1 week once a month giving the students access to information and computers.

Charlize described how it took 3 years to get the project completed. While on her visit to South Africa, Charlize sat down with the students and shared her story while listening to each of theirs.

With AIDS being a major problem in South Africa, Charlize explained that people don't talk about sex, condoms, HIV or AIDS which makes it difficult for students to know the facts about safe practices. The stories hit home to Charlize because she feels a strong connection to her home country and the students and families that are affected by the disease.

Charlize Theron's Dress on eBay:

Charlize was also on the show to announce her auction on eBay that was for a hand-made Narciso Rodriguez gown that she wore to the Cannes Film Festival. The proceeds went to the Entertainment Industry Foundation benefiting the Charlize Theron Africa Outreach Program. The gown sold for $1,825.
