Valerie Bertinelli - Success with Jenny Craig:

Valerie Bertinelli joined Oprah on the show again to share more on her experience with losing her weight in front of millions. Losing 47 pounds on Jenny Craig, Valerie has been sharing her lifestyle changes with the country on commercials and talk show appearances. The commercials are true - Valerie lost her first 40 pounds in her first year on the plan and now adds a variety of foods to her Jenny meals. Valerie showed off her new body on the cover of People Magazine in a bikini, even though she is over 45, she is in her best shape.

Valerie shared with viewers that her exercise routine consists of a classic home workout and not a personal trainer at a gym. Valerie relied on basic sit-ups and her diet to get the flat abs she showed off on the magazine cover. While Valerie feels pressure being in the public eye to keep up her new body, she feels confident in the routine and new lifestyle she has embraced in her life.

Marie Osmond - Success with NutraSystem:

Marie Osmond has returned to the spotlight after her popular run on the hit show Dancing with the Stars. Sitting down with Oprah, Marie was able to share a little about her past struggles with weight, and what it was like losing the pounds in front of such a large audience.

Marie has always had issues with her weight since she was a child. Growing up in the famous Osmond family, Marie was criticized for her weight and asked to lose more to be successful. It wasn't until Marie got down to 93 pounds while on television that the industry thought she looked good - even though she was at a very unhealthy weight.

Marie has also experienced a number of difficulties in her life in recent years including the breakup of her marriage, becoming a single mom to 8 kids and losing her mother. The stress of her life caused Marie put weight on and reach her highest weight of 165 pounds on her 5'5" frame. Marie started the NutraSystem program because it was heart healthy and then moved on to appear on Dancing with the Stars. In 4 months Marie lost 45 pounds and knows it was not just the dancing but the lifestyle changes she made on the program. Marie's focus now is to have a healthy and long life to be around for her children.

Star Jones:

Star Jones sat down with Oprah for her first visit to the show. Star reached millions of people each week as one of the hosts on The View. At the height of her success, Star was also at her heaviest weight of 307 pounds. Deciding to have gastric bypass surgery to save her life, Star made the choice to keep the procedure from her fans. Always keeping up the confident appearance, Star admitted that she didn't have to courage to admit to viewers that she wasn't happy anymore and needed to do something to make a change. Star had gotten to the point that her life was challenging and also lonely.

As Star continued to lie about her weight loss, her weight kept dropping, and at her thinnest she had lost 165 pounds. With the weight went the support and fan base Star had developed with the show. Viewers were unable to relate with the story Star was insisting on, and weren't hearing that she was too ashamed to admit that she needed help.

Star opened up to Oprah and shared her fears about being on the show and being confident enough to be herself. Star felt like she had disappointed her fans and was a failure for not being able to handle her weight with diet and exercise. Because of her fear, Star refused to discuss her weight loss in public and ended up pushing away her support. Star knows now that sharing her story will be help others who are dealing with weight struggles in their lives and are looking to someone who has been through it.

Not only did Star address her weight struggles with surgery, she also worked on her emotional connection to eating and moved towards the discovery of finding her genuine self. Star had to address her issues of being lonely and not having a relationship with a man that was based on desire. In order for a man to desire Star, she had to find out who she truly was and present that image into the world. Because she is strong emotionally now, Star felt comfortable to sit down with Oprah and know she was sharing her truth with the viewers,

Star revealed some of the ways that she was able to get her body into shape and health. After her bypass surgery, Star's doctor recommended she take up a form of pilates or yoga to help with the stretching of the skin. Besides diet changes and the bypass, Star also had a tummy tuck and breast life to help her body appear as she wanted it to after her major weight loss. Other than the 2 procedures, Star has been able to have the healthy body she wants by also adding in tennis, cardio and weight training.
