Why You Should Never Pay for Oprah Show Tickets

Simply put: never accept any offer for Oprah Show tickets if you or someone you know did not make the reservations yourself or if you did not win them directly from Oprah.com or Harpo. You should never have to pay for tickets, and information for how to contact Harpo staff will always be presented on mailings and e-mails. If more than one name needs to be changed on a reservation you need to call the Audience Department at (312)633-0808. Do not fall victim to a scam that is trying to make money from the misinformed.

Getting tickets to The Oprah Winfrey Show can be a near impossible thing to do -- but it can be done! With a limited number of tickets available for tapings that do not need a specific audience, the spaces go fast, so you need to be proactive.

For example, just one week prior to the reservation line opening for January show tapings, I was interested in seeing how quickly the tickets would run out once the phone lines were open. Tuesday morning was the first day to make reservations -- by Wednesday morning, the tickets for the entire month of January were gone.

If you are interested in obtaining tickets to the show, check Oprah.com or this site often to see when the reservation line is scheduled to open or for available shows with last-minute reservations by e-mail. The team of Oprah staff are the only ones who can reserve seats, and it is easy to miss the chance to get tickets by not being aware of when to call.

If you can't wait to be a member of the Oprah Show audience, patience and persistence will eventually pay off.

Extra Information

  • You can only make reservations for 4 seats - group seating is not available.
  • You are not able to attend a taping more than once per season.
  • You are not able to request seats to a particular show topic.
  • Last minute seats may be available by e-mailing the Audience Department, if you are selected to get a seat, the show will call you -- do not call them.
